SMS & missed-call consent

Important customer-communication responsibilities for businesses using PrimaReply SMS and missed-call recovery.

Last updated: 1 September 2026

Business responsibility

Your business is responsible for deciding whether it has a lawful basis to contact a customer, obtaining any required consent, and complying with Australian telecommunications, spam, privacy, consumer, and industry-specific obligations.

Missed-call recovery

Before enabling missed-call recovery, ensure calls are forwarded only in a way your customers reasonably expect. The first recovery SMS should clearly identify your business, be relevant to the missed call, and provide a helpful way for the customer to continue or seek assistance.

Opt-outs

Respect STOP, START, HELP, carrier filtering, and any direct request not to be contacted. PrimaReply’s current pilot workflow must not be used to intentionally override a recipient’s opt-out preference.

Reasonable contact

Configure communications for reasonable local contact hours and avoid repeated follow-ups. Do not use PrimaReply for marketing campaigns unless that use has separately been approved and legally reviewed.

Before live use

Read the Terms of Service and obtain your own legal advice where your business, customers, or industry requires it.
