Set up call forwarding on Optus mobile
Set up unanswered-call forwarding from an Optus mobile to PrimaReply, verify the diversion and turn it off safely when required.
Before you begin
- Copy the connected PrimaReply number from your dashboard.
- Use the Optus mobile that receives your business calls.
- Choose when unanswered rather than always forward so the phone still rings first.
Preferred setup on your phone
- Open the Phone app.
- Open Phone settings or Calling accounts.
- Select Call forwarding.
- Select Forward when unanswered or No reply.
- Enter your connected PrimaReply number.
- Enable or save the setting.
Menu names vary between iPhone and Android models. Use the Optus device-help website to select your exact phone when the option is not visible.
Dial-code alternative
On compatible Optus mobile services, open the keypad, dial **61*PRIMAREPLY_NUMBER#, then press Call. Replace PRIMAREPLY_NUMBER with the complete connected number.
Optus plans, voicemail configuration and devices can behave differently. If the code is rejected or the destination is not updated, use the handset-specific Optus instructions or contact Optus rather than repeatedly trying codes.
Check and verify it safely
- Dial
*#61#and press Call if your service supports status checks. - Open Settings → PrimaReply coverage, select Optus and start the 10-minute forwarding test.
- Call the business mobile from a different phone.
- Let it ring without answering.
- Wait for PrimaReply to show Forwarding verified.
The verification call does not send an SMS or create a customer lead. Normal missed-call recovery begins only when you deliberately switch PrimaReply to live mode.
Turn it off
Return to Call forwarding → Forward when unanswered and select Disable, or dial ##61# and press Call if supported.
